Atlanta, Georgia native Cody ChesnuTT is an amazing singer-songwriter who blurs the lines between rock, R&B, blues, and funk. Chestnutt first entered the music industry when he worked for Death Row records, where he wrote and produced songs for the group Six Feet Deep, before forming his own shortly-lived band called The Crosswalk. In 2002, he went on to release a double LP on his own called The Headphone Masterpiece, which he recorded on a 4-track recorder in his bedroom. That same year, acclaimed hip-hop group The Roots covered his song “The Seed,” which they called “The Seed (2.0),” where Chestnutt provided vocals and guitar. He went on to appear on the popular BBC show Later…with Jools Holland, while also making an appearance in comedian Dave Chappelle’s documentary, Dave Chappelle’s Block Party. In 2010, he released an EP entitled Black Skin No Value, and has since been touring and working on new material.
